Guests depart the main jetty to visit the nation's only underwater post office located at Mataking. As the tide recedes, visitors can stroll along a striking natural sandbar connecting the two Mataking landmasses. The journey continues with shallow reef exploration at Timba-Timba before concluding with relaxed swimming and frequent turtle encounters at Pom Pom.
Day Tour
Encompassing a massive 346 square kilometers of protected ocean environment, the Tun Sakaran Marine Park features eight distinct islands including Pulau Sibuan and Pulau Mantabuan. Sabah Parks strictly controls entry numbers to protect the habitat, capping daily visits and limiting individuals to three dives per day starting May 1, 2026. Certified dive operators must secure these permits well in advance.
For those lodging at Kulapuan Island Resort, experiencing Sipadan is most efficiently done by adding a short extension to your itinerary. Kulapuan Island Resort coordinates premium ground transportation from Tawau Airport straight to the main Semporna town jetty. Guests travel comfortably in spacious tourist vans or private cars.
Upon reaching the Semporna mainland jetty, our staff escorts you onto a private speedboat for the final leg of your journey. This quick water transfer takes only a few moments, offering a brilliant introduction to the tranquil turquoise waters of the Celebes Sea.
